Realm Ranks

You gain realm points every time you kill another player in Realm vs. Realm combat. The number of points you get for each kill depends on your group's size, how long it has been since your enemy was last killed, and how many Realm Points your enemy has. Realm Ranks are something you achieve by gaining lots of Realm Points. For each rank you advance, you gain +1 to all specs. These work like item bonuses, and stack on top of them, which means you can have up to +20 to all skills with max items and rank.

There are 10 levels within each of the 10 ranks. By gaining realm levels you gain Realm Skill Points, which you can spend on Realm Abilities that augment your character's abilities. It is fairly difficult for the average player to reach Realm Rank 5, so in general I recommend players plan on either rank 3 or 4 when figuring out how many +skills and RA's they will have. Some of the better Realm Abilities are: Purge, Ignore Pain, Volley, True Sight, Dodger, Mastery of Pain, Toughness, Aug Con, Falcon's Eye, Avoid Pain, and Mastery of Archery.
